The University of West Hungary was founded by merger of Soproni Egyetem (University of Sopron, f. 1762 as Academy of Mining and Forestry), Mosonmagyaróvár Faculty of Agriculture (f. 1818) of Pannon Agrártudományi Egyetem (Pannon University of Agricultural Sciences), Apáczai Csere János Teacher Training College (f. 1778), Benedek Elek College of Education (f. 1959), and Berzsenyi Dániel College (f. 1959), is one of the top higher educational institutions in Hungary. Our campuses located in five Western Hungarian towns offer up-to-date knowledge to almost 12 thousand students, who benefit from the high standard of education.
The university offers a broad range of study programmes from BA, BSc programmes to MA, MSc and PhD programmes, with excellent teaching and research. We spend 15-20% of our budget on research activity. More than 70% of the academic staff has scientific degrees.

The Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Affairs of the University of West Hungary received our group and signed the Bike of Honour on July 17, 2013.
