Stage 1 - Vienna (15.Jul) to Zagreb (22.Jul)

Vienna to Bratislava

For the beginning of the Tour, we'll ride along the banks of the Danube down to Bratislava. We'll be tracing back our route from back in 2011, enjoying one of the nice stretches on EuroVelo 6.

Bratislava to Sopron

We'll leave Bratislava heading south, following the Iron Curtain Trail along the Austrian - Hungarian border and visit one of the most iconic landmarks: the location of the 1989 Pan-European Picnic.

A lakeside lunch is already on the list, more news coming soon.

Sopron to Szombathely

We'll have a meeting with the city authorities in Szombathely, who are kind enough to provide free accommodation for the group.

Szombathely to Bad Radkersburg

From Szombathely, we'll ride into Austria once again and make a stop at Bildein to meet the local town authorities and have a light lunch.

At the end of the day, we'll arrive in Bad Radkersburg, where the local authorities will provide free accommodation at a gym.

Bad Radkersburg to Maribor

A meeting with Mayor Sommer in Bad Radkersburg will kick off an early bird kind of day, when we'll leave Austria and the Iron Curtain Trail for a few days, as we ride into Slovenia.

Maribor (break)

Program will include a city ride in Maribor and meetings with youth organizations. Maribor is the 2013 European Youth Capital.

Maribor to Zabok

Zabok to Zagreb

This day will mark the end of the Stage 1, so we'll have to make quite an entrance in Zagreb, and a celebration will be in order.
